About Tokyo Joe's
Tokyo Joe’s was created as a healthier alternative to the greasy Chinese takeout food, the expensive food at full service restaurants, and the fatty offerings at fast-food restaurants. With its first restaurant opened in 1996, the Denver, Colorado-based chain of fast casual restaurants has introduced its own brand of Japanese cuisine into the American market.
Tokyo Joe's prices are pretty cheap considering you can get fresh made-to-order sushi for under $10.
Every restaurant in the chain only uses fresh, organic and natural ingredients from the fruits, vegetables and herbs to the wild seafood. Rice is obviously the star ingredient, as can be expected from a Japanese restaurant, while tofu also takes center stage as a healthier protein alternative to meat.
The extensive menu includes dozens of starters, made-to-order sushi, build-your-own bowls, signature bowls, poke bowls, and bento boxes. There are also signature salads, kids’ meals, and a tea bar as well as plenty of sauces and dressings to choose from. Health-conscious customers can take a look at the health and nutrition information before ordering their food –and, surprisingly, most of the dishes are high in nutrients and less in fat.
