The coffee and donuts are the main items that continue to make Tim Hortons an institution in the culinary landscape of Canada, even in the United States. Known as Tim Hortons Cafe and Bake Shop in the international scene, it's in fact the largest quick service chain in Canada! There are more than 4,600 restaurants in the country and abroad (2016).

Founded by Tim Horton and Jim Charade in 1964, the chain's first restaurants offered only coffee and donuts. But in response to the changing demands of its customers, the chain has expanded its menu offering to include several types of baked goods. But the coffee is still its bestselling item, thanks to the use of 100% Arabica beans and its always fresh policy (i.e., coffee should be served within 20 minutes after it has been brewed).

The current menu includes donuts, bagels, tea biscuits, croissants, muffins, Danish rolls, and cakes. The beverages include flavored cappuccinos, iced coffee, and iced cappuccino, to name a few. The Tim Hortons prices are competitive so customers find their visits to the restaurants an enjoyable one.
