About Taco John's

Taco John's started as Taco House, a small taco stand started by John Turner in March 1969 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. When Harold Holmes and James Woodson bought the franchise rights to it in 1969, they changed it to Taco John's. Today, there are 390 restaurants (October 2016) in the United States.

The chain dubbed its fast-food Mexican-inspired fare as West-Mex to differentiate it from Tex-Mex. The term also applies to its service attitude and, in the process, established its brand. According to the company, West-Mex means the food items have a fresh and bold flavors because of the spices, sauces and salsas, as well as Potato Oles (crispy potato nuggets).

The Taco John's prices are more affordable that you think. When you see the menu, you will be immediately tempted to order the breakfast items. These include combos with Potato Oles, eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, onions, and green peppers. There are several breakfast burritos and several sizes of Potato Oles available.
