About Outback Steakhouse

The reasonable Outback Steakhouse prices encourage its customers to come back again and again instead of staying outside and looking in. Founded in February 1988, the chain consists of nearly 1,000 restaurants in North and South America, Australia, and Asia. Based in Tampa, Florida, its current owner is Bloomin' Brands as well as franchisees and joint ventures internationally.

The chain has an Australian theme but the sensibilities are all-American from the efficient service to the casual dining atmosphere. The meats are usually heavily seasoned, thanks to the 17-spice blend used on the steaks, which are then fried in beef tallow. Many of the dishes also have heavy cream and rich butter resulting in full flavors, too. The menus are also changed according to the region, such as crayfish and sweet potatoes in South America, Alaskan king crab legs in the West Coast, and Maine lobster tails in the East Coast.

The menu in all locations, nonetheless, includes grilled steaks, as well as lamb, chicken and pork dishes. There are also appetizers, entrees, and salads as well as desserts, beers and wines.
